ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench on Thursday declared the detention of four Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Shehryar Khan Afridi, illegal.

The court ordered the immediate release of all four individuals including Farrukh Afridi, Nadia Hussain and Shah Jahan.

Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu, deemed the Deputy Commissioner's order for 15-day detention of the PTI leaders as unconstitutional and illegal.

The court stressed that it will not tolerate any unlawful actions taken against individuals.

Furthermore, the court granted protective bail to Shehryar Khan Afridi in the wheat theft case registered at Bahawalpur police station. It also dismissed the argument put forth by the authorities regarding maintaining law and order through the detention of the Deputy Commissioner and CPO.
